Joanna Bigelow is a painter located in Annapolis, Maryland.
In creating a portrait, her first goal is to capture the spirit and personality of the subject. Joanna searches for the underlying structure and rhythm of the face to accomplish this.
In 2015 she left conventional college to become a painting apprentice. She studied with Cedric and Joanette Egeli to learn portraiture. She also learned from Rick Casali and John Ebersberger. In her training, form and impressionistic color lead the way to creating lifelike drawings and paintings.
In addition to commission work, Joanna teaches and explores other forms of art. It is her belief that this knowledge should be handed down and takes great joy in helping others succeed. She is intent on learning new and different ways to innovate and express life as we know it.
